Description:
The “Greening Our Future” Tree Planting Event is a collaborative environmental sustainability activity bringing together students, staff, and the community under the partnership between Eldoret National Polytechnic, the Ajira Digital Program, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Initiative.

The event aims to promote SDG 13 (Climate Action) and SDG 15 (Life on Land) by encouraging tree planting and environmental conservation as part of a broader effort to combat climate change, enhance biodiversity, and create a greener learning environment.

Participants will take part in planting indigenous trees around the campus and surrounding areas, symbolizing growth, unity, and the shared responsibility of protecting our planet.

Objectives:

• To raise awareness on environmental conservation and sustainability.

• To contribute to Kenya’s national tree restoration efforts.

• To empower youth through digital and green skills in line with Ajira Digital’s mission.

• To promote institutional commitment toward achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Expected Outcomes:

• Increased green cover within the institution.

• Strengthened collaboration between education, technology, and sustainability partners.

• Inspired youth participation in environmental stewardship and innovation.
